Habitat for Humanity has built more than one million houses, affecting change in more than 9.8 million lives in over 80 countries around the world. Habitat is a grassroots, Christian organization founded on common ground. We bridge theological, political, racial and economic differences by putting love into action.

For over two decades, Habitat for Humanity Western Wayne County has devoted efforts advocating to end poverty housing and homelessness throughout the Greater Detroit metropolitan area.  Over the years, our efforts have built a sense of purpose and dignity in the lives of people who need a hand up not a hand out.

Habitat is not a give-away program.  We partner with people who demonstrate a willingness to invest a minimum of 250 sweat equity volunteer hours, a down payment deposit, attend various financial and budget management classes..Families accepted into our program are required to invest their time, talent & resources in exchange for a mortgage.

A world where everyone has a decent place to live
